First on the Friday night, The Sigmund Freuds did end up playing, although we more invaded the stage and took over for 10 minutes. Either way, it was great fun, we played 2 Freud songs, Philosophizing Carpet Worm and Cunt For Brains plus a cover of The Ramones song "Blitzkreig Bop".

After that we decided to sample the eloquent delights of "Hardcore". A drink we discovered in Asda and labelled as "apple brew" and costs you only 75p for a litre. Suprisingly, it didn't taste too bad. We got 6 bottles of the stuff, along with a couple of crates and whiskey to wash it down. Had a pretty good night there in Cliftonville.

The next day involved an early start at my friends house. 3 crates at 2pm was how the day was spent in good company. Had a lovely stroll around Milmead in the early hours too.

After waking up there, with nasuea and a headache (as natural karma commands) we walked a friend back about half-way home and then got breakfast from a greasy spoon. A bacon sandwich and a can of coke are always good for a hangover.

Afterwards was onto the days events which was the local band 5-a-side football tournament. Our team came last (expectedly). This is because we are terrible at football and my arm is still in a sling, plus I played in chelsea boots. So there you go.

With the competition lost onto another friends house for the England match. Feeling quite ill after drinking constantly for near 3 days, with only 2 signifact breaks, I stayed off the beer. I also nearly fell asleep watching England play. I retreated to the back room with a couple of people to listen to music, treating ourselves to such classics as The Kinks, Stranglers and an excellent soul compilation CD.

With the match over, I ambled home and thus here I am. Feeling much better than earlier.

Now for something with some actual substance. It seems my school (Dane Court Grammar) have taken to allowing advertising in school. I don't just mean a company running something like a "Get Active" thing or whatever, I mean literally a huge massive poster advertising the latest Lindsy Lohan movie and to a lesser extent McFly's new single. We looked over the poster and there was nothing to do with education in the slightest. This happens to come at the same time as 3 large TVs in the school have appeared on walls.

It's all very curious. As far as I knew a school is not a corporate hunting ground and should never be considered so. Upon the looking up the legalities it seems there are none and that the current government infact encourage corporate links to schools.

Well, we decided we would put up our own poster.

A nice picture of our Head and Deputy Head. I'm thinking they should use my suggested motto from now on.

And theres a picture of our posters on the giant advert.

I don't think our posters survived the day, but ah well.

Peoples opinions on advertising in school?

Dislocation

Sorry for a long disappearance, laziness took hold quite strongly. Heres an update.

On the subject of the gig prospect at the Lido with Plan9Promotions, it has come to nothing. I've yet to recieve a reply to my reply from them.

I also, just 2 weeks ago, dislocated my shoulder on Broadstairs beach. Painful stuff it is and also very wierd feeling too. Now I've got to wear a sling for the next couple of weeks still, but it's not too bad.

Unfortunately, due to my dislocation I cannot play on The Sigmund Freuds team at this weeks inter-band football team, which is a big shame. Although I lack skills I still enjoy the game immensley. So instead, I'm just going to be manager, get drunk, and shout pointless advice to the team. Should be a good day.

Also, supposedly, The Sigmund Freuds are meant to playing at the Juice Bar this Friday, although it's a shamble currently. I'm happy either way. If it doesn't happen, I get to see White Heat and Look Look (Dancing Boys) at the Lido and if it does I get to play at the Juice Bar. Either way the weekend is shaping up to be good.

I've lately found myself compltely gripped by the football, as happens every year, and I'm definately enjoying it.

Back at school now too, and after dropping politics I have an over abundance of frees with nothing to do in. This lead today to trapping a friend in a locker. Good times.

Smash!

I for sure need to stay away from this thing after a night out, it just makes me rant aimlessly.

So in other news I played a small set at a local gig at the Balmoral Wine Bar, organised by a guy called Dangerous Dave (and brought to my attention by Oonagi, of which has a great new look). I thought it went pretty well and I enjoyed it alot. Heres a clip of me covering Robert Johnson's song "Sweet Home Chicago" but with Chicago replaced with Marghetto.

I'd like to thank Dave for letting me play and for Kevin for helping me get in touch with Dave.

Also on the subject of music I've made myself a myspace with a track of mine on there. Click here for that. Also, after making it and adding people I knew plus some other people through another group I play in, I recieved a message from Plan9Promotions of whom organise gigs locally. The message offered me a gig at the Lido. If it does actually happen, I shall be sure to advertise it overly everywhere. This could be the start of Blues revival, haha.

On other aspects of my life, it's my final week of exams. A 3hr politics exam tomorrow and then 3hr media exam on Thursday. Once I finally get through I'll be back at school again to finish off the final half-term of Year 12. I've no idea why we have to go back as we've finished our course. Either way, I expect that this weekend should include a pretty decent part of where we shall fulfil the expected yobness of us by robbing old ladies and petrol bombing innocent dogs.

Ireland

Once again is there the significant chance of proper violence in Irealnd.

Quite lately many people have been complainging about the "anti-British" film about the Irish stuggle and what not. Much complaints about how we the British have been shown as evil tortutrous bastards. Of course we're never like that. And of course we have no involvement with the concentration camp in Cuba and the occupation of Iraq and our involvement in pretty much most countries where the US has decided to intervene for the good of it's people, I mean the good of that countries people.

Anyway, I doubt anyone would be complaining about the "pro-British film", if it were ever made, of heroic British soldiers sorting out Ireland as teh Irish couldn't do it themselves.

Either way it's the red tops showing through their inability to take into account facts and not to write to sell, but to inform. Luckily they'll be gone soon.

Anyway, I shall recap on my current events.

On Friday I went out to a couple of friends house of where I drunk maybe more beer than I should have done as my memory is near blank of the whole time of going to Aldis and seeing Peggy Sue and the Pirates at the Lido. They were absolutely great, excellent voices and definitley a refreshing sound around here. Supposedly me and a few friends clapped along the whole way through. Chances are we were probably out of time, so I apologise on all our behalfs to whoever we annoyed. I really hope they come back soon so I can see them again.

Next up was Blood Red Shoes of whom I saw before at the Lido quite awhile ago. They were brialliant as usual and it was great to see them once again. Although, disappointingly they didn't play Bless His Heart, but ah well, it was very enjoyable all the same.

Overall an excellent night, yet very blurred. One of the best moments being when I went up to retrieve my lost passport from the bar, upon recieving it I ordered some drink and got served. Of course, had the woman checked the passport she'd just given me she would have known I was underage.

Hmmm, there's a strange ant that's been living on my computer desk for a couple of days now. I'm not sure on a name yet. I was thinking Anty, keep it simple. I wondering if he's preparing the room for the annual ant invasion, but we shall have to see.

Dobson.

Sweet Home Margate

On the drive home fro my exam today I realised I suffered from/enjoyed micro-nationalism (as mentioned in an Arts and Elbows entry) for Margate. Not sure why, but I do love the place despite it's many faults. Although, that won't stop me from leaving as soon as I get the chance.

My last exam for 10 days today. A nice 2 hours of Psychology. Nothing too bad, got through it, although time seemed to drag on and on as it does when you've got nothing left to write little messages to the examiner.

A very strange find I had looking through all these Thanet blogs was a picture of my media teach Mr.Moran with a fake blue mohican and pink tribal paintings on the side of his head on UnderOurInfluence.

A very wierd thing to find indeed. Ah well, I'm sure I can use this picture to my advantage somehow, although I expect I'll fail at that. Either way, it made me laugh.

Well, tomorrow I'll be off into Margate for the day, gonna look around a little retro shop that appeared awhile back (it's RAF/mod signs attracted me straight away). Gotta find myself a new jacket and black thin tie anyway. After that I'll be off to a friends to drink up while watching Blues Brothers, Animal House, Footbal Factory, or whatever else takes our fancy. The evening holds for me a night in the Lido of which I'll be sure to write up a little review of the bands.

Dobson.

Departure

Mr.Eastcliff Richard has closed his blog. A shame indeed, he being one of the main reasons that made me actual bother to do this blog. Let's hope he may one day grace us with a blog or two in the future. His wit shall be missed.

Well today I had another exam, 2 and a half hours of sociology. Luckily I was sat next to a window, but all I got a glimpse of was kids walking around and the occasional giant segull flying around. My last exam until after next week is Psychology. Wish me luck and all that.

My chances of getting out to what is shaping up to be an excellent night at the Lido were sliced a bit today as my parents discovered my borken bed. It's all fixed up now and I'm hoping they'll become senile and forget before Friday. Maybe I could just hit them with a frying pan.

Dobson.

Hailstorm

Just had a hailstorm appear here in Margate. It was quite fun to watch, hail bouncing in the grass and the occasional flash across the sky. It's just kind of descended into summer rain.

I'm quite suprised the few flys buzzing around my garden aren't being crushed into the ground by the rain really.

Storms always remind me of childhood when, with the first boom of thunder, we'd dash to the window to watch the whole storm through, depsite anything that was on TV. Nowadays, I have a glance outside and instantly return to whatever I was doing, which happened to be watching Quadrophenia with some toast. Good toast might I add. Good film aswell.

I wish there were still mods around today. I shall have to start a mod revival or something. Although, I suppose I could do without those scooters. They were a bit shit to be honest.

Also, does anyone else find it strange that Phil Daniels is on Eastenders now. Everytime I see him on there I have the strange hope he'll next appear in suit and parka and lead a small group of mods to terrorise the Square. Alas, I doubt this is going to happen anytime soon, but I'd certainly enjoy the soap more if it did.

Morning, morning, morning.

With my stomach filled with a couple of bowls of Weetos, I feel ready to do nothing as usual with my free day. Chances are it will include sitting on the computer constantly refreshing in a futile attempt to see if anything new has been put up anywhere. Plus I can't go out because I'm grounded.

I think that last sentence made me realise I'm possibley the youngest blogger in Thanet that I know of. I'm 17 by the way. Well thats what I get for bringing 10 people into my house, dropping a bucket of vomit while running down some stairs and breaking a bed. I could tell the full story, but I can't really remember it. I know we met a man who looked alot like Meatloaf and one of my friends fell down some stairs at the church on Northdown Road and smashed her face in.

Anyway, hopefulyl I'll be able to get leave to go the Lido on Friday. It's not somewhere I really enjoy, but Blood Red Shoes are returning to Margate to delight us with their music and it's not something I really want to miss all that much.

Also, as being a teenage with a blog, this gives me the right to complain and moan about nothing at all, like "Oh woe is me, the girl I love has grown an extra 3 arms and a fish wing on the back of her head". Well, actually, that's not happened, but ti would give me something interesting to stare at during my exams.

On the subject of my exams (A-levels), I done my last General Studies exam yesterday. If you've ever taken a General Studies exam you'll know how utterly useless it is. One of the questions being:

"A man has a chicken, a fox and a bag of grain. The chicken cannot be left alone with the grain and the fox cannot be left alone with the chicken. The man must get all of them across a river, but he can only fit one thing on the boat at a time, including himself. How does he get everything across?"

I'm not entirely sure what that tells a Uni or employer about me, but ah well.

Luckily, during the exams so far The Blues Brothers soundtrack has been on repeat in my head, so that's kept me slightly entertained.

Back under a new alias...

Inspired by Eastcliff Richard, Thanet Life, Oonagi and Skin of Stars, I have now restarted my blog.
